The project consisted of removal of existing bulkhead and installation of new sheet-pile bulkhead (greater than 1,000 linear feet). The project also included installation of rails to haul barges and the construction of drilled and ACIP piers.

Kenall’s scope of work included geotechnical core drilling, soil sampling, laboratory testing and the geotechnical engineering services. We developed recommendations for design of the sheet-pile bulkhead including pressure diagrams, deflection diagrams, tie-back piling, backfill for bulkheads and stability analyses. We also performed settlement analysis, and made recommendations on foundation design and earthwork.
