Kenall had been instrumental in the ongoing reconstruction and renovation of New Orleans schools following Hurricane Katrina, demonstrating unwavering commitment to Lower Ninth Ward’s students. Another project completed by the team for City of New Orleans schools involved the new construction of the Martin Luther King, Jr. High School (former Alfred Lawless High School). This 195,000 SF facility was part of the massive $1.8 billion initiative to restore educational infrastructure in the city.
Comprehensive construction materials testing and pile load testing services were carried out by Kenall’s team, coordinating and conducting field monitoring, testing, and inspections, while ensuring compliance with design engineering specifications. Their work included inspecting precast concrete piles at the plant, examining steel rebar and concrete forms, and overseeing the installation of piles with vibration monitoring of surrounding structures. Additionally, Kenall conducted both field and laboratory testing of various construction materials, including steel, concrete, and welds.
Through their ongoing commitment and dedication to the community, Kenall played a vital role in rebuilding New Orleans’ educational facilities, providing students with the necessary resources to learn and thrive at school.
